Jerry Barrett
July 12th, 1931 - October 5, 2021
Longtime resident of Dash Point, Jerry Barrett, passed away on October 5, 2021, with his daughters, Christine (Deming) and Lorelle (Leacy) by his side. Jerry lived in Dash Point as a youth and moved back with his wife, Jackie, around 1956 and lived there until 2019, when he moved to Bremerton to live with Lorelle and her husband.
Jerry and Jackie were active members of the Dash Point community. They participated in the Dash Point Dock Dinners, the Community Club, Dash Point Centennial, scholarship, and on the board. Jerry was instrumental on getting the flag pole, helped with the Dash Point Dash and the loved working on the Christmas tree.
In memory of Jerry and Jackie Barrett a bench and plaque is planned to be placed where they enjoyed sitting at the park. Tribute to Jerry Barrett
Jerry passed away recently with family after a very long and rewarding life spent in Dash Point. As a child, Jerry’s parents rented cabins on the beach and decided to move here. When Jerry married his beautiful wife Jackie, they decided to live in Dash Point as well. His home overlooking the docks over the years gave them much pleasure. Both were active in the community over the many years. Jerry was on the Dash Point Improvement Club and spearheaded a drive to place the flag pole in the Community Park. With his heart in this community, Jerry helped out with many events, including the Dash Point Fun Run. Give him a task and it would be done. His tireless efforts also included seeing that a December Holiday Tree was put up each year at the end of the docks with beautiful lights. This was always for Jackie, and the Community to enjoy. His spirit lasts on and he is greatly missed by family and friends.
